Senior Advisory Consultant- Leeds, Manchester or Sheffield

We are seeking Senior Advisory Services Consultants to join our North, West and Yorkshire Infrastructure team.  These roles have a contract, procurement or supply chain focus that stems across the following markets: Road, Rail, Water and Energy. They are relatively wide, and you will be working with a variety of clients on a range of advisory projects, which include Highways England, Network Rail, DFT, TFN, water and energy utility companies, BEIS, Sellafield, Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, private infrastructure investors and city authorities.  Travel will be required within this role.   

The Role

You will help deliver and shape our service and product offerings by applying our unique mix of capabilities, technical and non-technical, to focus on outcomes that will contribute to our clients’ success.    

Specific role attributes are: 

  • Developing and executing procurement and contracting strategies for client organisations
  • Providing advice around forms of contract with an emphasis on the NEC suite of contracts, although experience within other forms including international experience, is valued 
  • Developing contract documentation, including identification, capture and development of client requirements 
  • Experience of working with contracts to manage suppliers, including understanding of supplier performance management and incentivisation 
  • Supporting procurement exercises for client organisations

  • Demonstrable commercial awareness and acumen, including a strong track record in work winning 
  • The ability to create and deliver strategic approaches for clients through understanding their business drivers, risks and opportunities, resulting in significant improvements to their businesses. 
  • Contribution to client accounts and business development activity working with clients to understand their needs and form compelling proposals for consultancy services 
  • To develop and build strong client relationships and command the confidence of others, internally and externally. 
  • Contribution to the delivery of projects within multidisciplinary teams. 
  • To continually seek to broaden knowledge base, including awareness of broader business, economics and the political environment. 
  • To adopt an organised, methodological and creative approach to problem solving and decision-making  
  • To achieve successful stakeholder engagement and communications including at senior strategic level.  
  • To deliver robust business benefits led strategy, return in investment, best practice improvement programmes and change management (people, processes, technology and culture) methodologies
