Safety Manager

The Opportunity
Job Title: Safety Manager
Job Location: Airport Island
Post Descriptions:
- Lead and manage safety for Airport Tung Chung Link project, ensuring compliance with local legislation and company standards.
- Develop, implement and maintain the project safety management system, site safety plans, method statements and risk assessments.
- Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, toolbox talks and incident investigations; implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate and communicate closely with project managers, contract teams, design teams, Contractors and corporate stakeholders to integrate safety into planning and execution.
- Review contractors’ safety proposals and performance;
- Monitor safety performance/KPIs and produce regular reports for senior management; recommend improvements to systems and processes.
Attend meetings with regulators, auditors and third parties as required.
Is this role right for you?
Qualifications & Experience Required:
- a recognised degree in construction safety, engineering, property management, or other related disciplines;
- a valid Safety Officer Registration Certificate issued by the Labour Department and a valid First Aid Certificate. Candidates with qualifications or experience in safety auditing, safety management (OHSAS 18001 or ISO 45001), and 5S management systems are preferred;
- no less than 10 years’ working experience in site safety, construction projects after obtaining the relevant academic and professional qualifications;
- the ability to closely monitor site safety and occupational health and safety, identify unsafe or non‑compliant behaviours, provide immediate corrective suggestions, and compile safety reports and daily work reports;
- excellent communication skills, including written and spoken Chinese and English;
- proactive, able to handle tasks independently, and able to work as part of a team.
What we offer you
The commencement and duration of the works will depend on the construction progress. The initial contract will be for 12 months, but this may be extended depending on the development of the project.
Standard working hours will be five days per week
An attractive remuneration package will be offered to the successful candidates. Arup will give at least four (4) weeks’ notice to confirm when the candidate is required to commence work and when their service will be completed.
The candidate will be normally required to work the following days and hours:
Monday to Friday, from 9:00 to 18:00;
