We currently have an exciting opportunity to join Arup's emerging rolling stock capability. For many years Arup has been at the forefront of industry-leading railway consultancy and design. Now we are growing into the rolling stock domain and are looking for a senior consultant to help deliver a burgeoning workbank as part of our successful rail business strategy.

Role – What you’ll be doing:
 
Reporting to the Rolling Stock Lead, the role will comprise the following activities:
  • Contributing to the rolling stock strategy and business plan;
  • Helping to identify opportunities for the business;
  • Contributing to bids and proposals;
  • Carrying out technical analysis and / or manage analysis being conducted by Arup colleagues, compiling it into a coherent and holistic end-product;
  • Deliver technical work, either in formal reports or other suitable media;
  • Supporting internal delivery and maintaining excellent customer relations, quality, and programmes;
  • Delivery of consultancy advice.
Experience – What we look for in you:
 
You are a degree-qualified engineer who is committed in their pathway to being Chartered. Experience in one or more of the following areas is preferable:

  • Rolling stock specialist engineering
  • Rolling stock design
  • Rolling stock asset management
  • Rolling stock assurance / acceptance
  • Rolling stock systems engineering
  • Railway operations 
  • Railway business management
 
Your enthusiasm and ability to rapidly assimilate information will be considered as valuable as your experience, as will your affinity for problem solving and your understanding of the wider context than your chosen discipline(s).
