Arup is seeking a Design Manager/Civil Lead to join our Roads & Streets business based in Auckland. This is a fantastic opportunity to drive project delivery, win new work, and develop key client relationships in the Infrastructure sector. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and winning new work, leading projects across Transport, Water, and Energy business lines, and providing technical leadership within the Civil/Roads & Streets space. Your responsibilities will also include managing client relationships, supporting bid management, and undertaking Construction Supervision roles as required.

The Opportunity 
 
•    Lead and manage key projects within the NZ geography across various infrastructure sectors.
•    Develop and implement long-term plans aligned with Arup’s business strategy.
•    Procure work, negotiate contracts, and ensure financial performance on projects.
•    Foster and maintain client relationships, while expanding the Arup brand in the Transport sector.
•    Oversee the development, design, and management of projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget.

Is this role right for you? 

•    Over 10 years of experience in civil engineering and major infrastructure projects.
•    A relevant tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a similar area.
•    Extensive experience in the consulting environment, particularly with major infrastructure projects.
•    Membership with relevant professional institutions or significant progress towards membership.
•    In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and industry procedures.
