We now invite applications for the following resident site staff position for Greater Male' Connectivity - Male' to Thilafushi Link Project in Maldives. This project is about the construction of an approximately 6.7 km dual two-lane highway with marine viaducts and at-grade roads on reclaimed land linking the capital island of Male’ with three other islands, Villingili, Gulhifalhu and Thilafushi.

(Salary Range between USD5,100/month to USD6,400/month inclusive of housing allowance)

Qualifications & Experience required:
A diploma or Higher Certificate from a Technical College or equivalent in Electrical Engineering; AND
At least 5 years of relevant post qualification experience as IOW in similar projects.

Roles & Responsibilities:
• Responsible to the Resident Engineer – E&M (RE-E&M).
• Review QA/QC Plan submitted by the Contractor and provide any recommendations for improvement.
• Assist the RE-E&M in reviewing Method Statements and material submissions relating to proper construction methodology, safety compliances including review of equipment deployment and Inspection Test Plan process.
• Monitor and report potential safety concerns to RE-E&M.
• Ensure that the E&M Works are being carried out in accordance with the Specification requirements, drawings and approved Method Statements and identify any faulty materials, workmanship, etc.
• Update and keep proper records of Site Diaries.
• Report to RE (E&M) on site problems, progress, quality of workmanship, safety, environment etc.
• Carry out proper supervision works including the preparation of site measurement works, checking site measurements and review of site diaries returns daily.
• Ensure proper site management and that site diaries and other records are kept up to date.
• Check and make observation on materials, works method, setting out and safety precautions for works to be carried out and coordinate with the Contractor for improvement and compliance.
• Maintain contemporary site records.
• Arrange and monitor method tests.
• Liaise with public on site.
• Check site diary.
• Supervise and check that works comply with the contract documents.
• Inspect all works on site as regards safety to workmen.
• Check that work carried out complies with the Maldivian electrical and mechanical regulations.
• Carry out routine coordination and discussion with other RSIOW’s/RIOW’s of all other departments in interfacing works and highlight any construction issue in advance that may arise.
• Attend the Site Safety and Environmental Management Committee meetings (if requested), weekly safety walk and weekly environmental walk.

• Carry out any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the CRE.

Above position will be on a contract basis to work on site for approximately 24 months to 44 months depending on the position which may be lengthened or shortened subject to project development.  Standard working hours will be 44 hours per week, shift work may be required.  An attractive remuneration package with 10% contract-end gratuity, one-off home contents and settling in allowance in the range of USD8,100 to USD10,900, medical insurance and one return flight per year will be offered to the successful candidates together with 30 days of annual leave.
