Responsibilities for Resident Building Services Engineer:

  • Supervise and lead Building Services Inspection Team for the participation of T&C, mockup inspections, factory inspection, etc.
  • Review and fine tune the design and shop drawings with the contractors to match with the actual site conditions
  • Report and resolve design or installation problems or site difficulties
  • Monitor and report the performance of building services sub-contractors
  • Monitor the progress of works and attend regular or ad-hoc meetings
  • Regular reporting to Head Office and support preparation to the Project Engineer / Project Manager in reporting of site progress is required

Responsibilities for Resident Building Services Inspector / Resident Assistant Building Services Inspector / Work Supervisor (Building Services):

  • Carry out duties in all aspects of supervision of building services work on site within the contracts and the maintenance of site records
  • Comment and monitor the installation programme, submission schedule, T&C related documents submitted by contractor
  • Witness and report the acceptance of T&C
  • Oversee, inspect, test and examine the materials, the workmanship, installation method and procedures for all building services works and ensure they are in compliance with the requirements, specification and drawings
  • Check and update the daily labour strength and works activities on site
  • Provide the outstanding and defect list and report the progress of completion of outstanding works & rectification of defects
  • Review, validate, provide comments and endorse the T&C reports, shop drawings, materials, samples, method statements, etc. submitted from the Contractor and arrange necessary rectification works
  • Monitor the progress of works and provide site progress reports
  • Regular reporting to Head Office and support preparation to the Project Engineer / Project Manager in reporting of site progress is required for RBSI / RABSI

Other qualifications and experience required for the positions:

Resident Building Services Engineer:

  • Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Building Services Engineering or equivalent in MHKIE, Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services discipline
  • 3 years of relevant post-qualification local experience

Resident Building Services Inspector / Resident Assistant Building Services Inspector:

  • Diploma or High Certificate in Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services from Hong Kong Polytechnic University/Polytechnic or the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education/Technical College/Technical Institute, or equivalent
  • Met the language proficiency requirements of “Level 2” or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the HKDSEE or HKCEE or equivalent
  • 7 years of relevant post-qualification local experience for Resident Building Services Inspector; 3 years of relevant post-qualification local experience for Resident Assistant Building Services Inspector

Work Supervisor (Building Services):

  • Certificate in Mechanical / Electrical / Building Services Engineering from Hong Kong Polytechnic University/Polytechnic or the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education/Technical College/Technical Institute, or equivalent
  • Met the language proficiency requirements of “Level 2” or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the HKDSEE or HKCEE or equivalent
  • 5 years of local experience as a skilled worker in the field of Mechanical / Electrical / Building Services Engineering with 3 years of relevant post-qualification local experience of site supervision of building services installations
  • Completed a recognized technician apprenticeship in Mechanical / Electrical / Building Services Engineering

Other qualifications and experience required for the positions:

  • Equip with valid green card issued by a recognized organization
  • Good understanding of design and construction works
  • Skilled in effective communication with relevant parties on-site issues
  • Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese
  • Candidate with previous on-site project experience of Housing Authorities is preferrable but not essential


This position will be on a contract basis to work at Kwu Tung North Housing Project site in Hong Kong for 24 months, which may be lengthened or shortened subject to project development. Standard working hours will be 6 days per week.  Attractive remuneration package with gratuity will be offered to the successful candidates.
