Rail Business & Projects Leader

Your responsibilities
The Rail market, both light and heavy rail, is in transit. Growing challenges such as climate change, the need to develop alternative mobility solutions and the energy transition provides opportunities for Arup to develop new products and services that have a major impact on the environment around us. In that context, the Rail Business is one of Arup’s ‘strategic pillars’.

In the role of Rail Business & Project Leader, Amsterdam, you are the initiator and contact point for Arup’s Dutch activities in the field of Rail Business. And you will be our connect within the Arup European and global rail business network. You ensure that business opportunities are identified and utilised. As a result, you have a significant impact on the medium term objectives of the organization in the field of our rail services and products in the Dutch market.

As Rail Business & Project Leader you will both win and lead projects, managing a team of engineers, advisors, and designers to deliver projects in the Netherlands. You connect the Netherlands Business Unit team members along the Rail theme, thereby creating collaboration and exchange of knowledge, nationally. You will facilitate engineers through coaching and provide for visible development of the team and their individual members. You have an eye for expertise and (technical) skills and know how to reward them.

Your profile
You can identify yourself with our values and you want to collaborate with us in shaping a better world with iconic and innovative projects. To maintain Arup’s high quality standards we are looking for candidates who meet the following minimum criteria:
• You have a technical Master degree is preferred
• You have at least ten years of professional experience in consulting or within a relevant authority within the Rail Business
• You are an experienced project manager, capable in managing complex projects and/or programs at the cutting edge of rail infrastructure, and you are looking for the next step in your career
• You have a relevant and broad relationship network, within Dutch light rail or heavy rail authorities
• You have excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English
• You are a team player, pro-active and you are an ambassador for our company.
