The Role

This role provides an opportunity to be exposed to a wide range of activities and technologies in a thriving and highly technical environment.  You will be working to test and analyse solutions that will make a real difference to our engineering teams and to the products and services we deliver to our clients and customers.  There will be opportunities to demonstrate technical leadership on projects and development initiatives.

This role requires exposure to and an appreciation of good testing, test tools and development practices. The team is looking to expand its QA coverage and processes, so this role is both about helping to test our existing portfolio but also help drive an expansion of our QA processes.

You’ll join a growing and collaborative development team with a range of skills and experiences, based mainly in the Asia Pacific region. The role reports to the head of product and application development, who is based in Brisbane.

You should apply if:

  • You have experience in testing software, developing tests, providing input to test frameworks and helping teams achieve quality software
  • You enjoy learning new things, sharing your knowledge and collaborating with colleagues
  • You are comfortable working in a distributed, multinational, multicultural team on global projects

The responsibilities of this role include:

  • Working within an agile team as an advocate for software quality
  • Assisting our technical leads with test strategy and planning
  • Assisting the development team with developing QA processes and tests
  • Assisting to developing acceptance criteria for user stories
  • Carrying out exploratory tests and reviewing outcomes with the team
  • Assisting in the development of automation scripts for Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) pipelines
  • Documenting support notes and developer guides
  • Manage test evidence and test signoffs

Requirements and skills

Essential Skills and Knowledge

  • Experience with test frameworks, test patterns and automated testing
  • Experience with, or an appreciation of, cloud hosting, build and deployment in the cloud (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google, Heroku), PaaS and SaaS
  • Experience with testing web applications and related technologies
  • Experience with DevOps principles and techniques, source code control, CI/CD tools and automation
  • Capable of solving complex technical and software development problems and conveying this information to others
