The Opportunity

We’re seeking a Proposal Manager to support our Property, Science & Industry (PS&I) teams in securing winning bids through strategic bid management and high-quality submissions. You’ll coordinate bid support, prioritize key pursuits, and foster strong relationships with internal teams and external partners. Applying APMP principles and Arup’s 12-Step process, you’ll shape winning strategies, refine proposals, and collaborate with business leaders. The role includes supporting bid efforts across UKIMEA, engaging in work-winning networks, and enhancing professional growth within the MCBD community.

Is the role right for you?

As Proposal Manager, you’ll collaborate with Bid Directors and Managers to meet RFP deadlines, ensuring high-quality technical submissions. You’ll champion best practices in bidding, leading complex proposals while guiding smaller bid teams. Responsibilities include shaping bid strategies, developing win themes, managing bid processes, liaising with supply chain partners, and overseeing documentation. Post-submission, you’ll review outcomes, refine strategies, and keep ahead of procurement trends, contributing to continuous improvement. You may also mentor or manage team members.

Requirements

You will be Strategic & results-driven – Strong competitive drive, ability to set priorities, and a focus on maximizing proposal effectiveness.

Be an Experienced bid professional – Proven expertise in proposal management, writing, and leading bid teams under pressure.

Be Collaborative & adaptable – Works well with teams, fosters productive discussions, and navigates challenges diplomatically.

Be an Effective communicator – Skilled in articulating ideas creatively and ensuring clear, compliant submissions.

Have an Interest in design – Appreciation of architecture and urban design, contributing valuable insights to proposals.
