The Opportunity

Due to continued business growth and development of the Advisory sector, Arup has a new role for a Project Planner (scheduler) to join our busy group in either our Leeds or Manchester office. You will work as a Project Planner and develop programmes (schedules) in P6 and MS Project as directed by the Project Manager or the needs of the project team. You may work on one key project at a time for a long period or have multiple projects and be moved over to the next serving our business requirements, this will mean working on different project and possibly involve travel to different locations for on-site meetings.

You will be involved in projects across Arup UK which can include large public infrastructure projects relating to roads, highways and rail as well as building structures in the commercial and healthcare sectors. You will support the growth of the Project Controls team by ensuring collaborative working with the team and delivering work to the correct standards expected of this role and seniority. You will also co-ordinate and lead the project team to create a robust, logically linked, resource, cost loaded schedule from scratch for our clients.

Is this role right for you?

In this role you will provide project planning support to delivery teams in the following areas:

  • Design and construction management.
  • Change control.
  • Actions/Issues management
  • Cost management
  • Contract and procurement management. 

If you have a background in reading tenders, contract and project control documentation to extract the necessary information to build a programme to client specifications, we want to hear from you. You may have diverse planning expertise and project knowledge across a range of industrials including Energy, Nuclear, Environmental, Rail and Highways. However, we also welcome applications from people with a blend of project planning and operations consultancy experience.

Requirements

  • Highly skilled in Primavera P6 and Microsoft office suites.
  • Good working knowledge of NEC contracts or similar.
  • Professional Certifications relating to planning.
  • Graduate level qualifications in a relevant construction/engineering discipline or similar.
