This role provides an opportunity to be exposed to a wide range of activities and technologies in a thriving and highly technical environment.  You will be working to develop solutions that will make a real difference to our engineering teams and to the products and services we deliver to our clients and customers.  There will be opportunities to experience software development in a range of scenarios such as desktop, web and cloud environments. This role requires an interest in pursuing a software development career, with some demonstrated experience in scripting and coding. Some knowledge in an engineering discipline such as Civil, Mechanical, Electrical engineering will give you better insight into the software problems we are tackling. 

You’ll join a growing and collaborative development team with a range of skills and experiences, based mainly in the Asia Pacific region. The role reports to the senior digital design tools developer, who is based in Brisbane.

The Opportunity

  • You are interested in, and can show some experience in, software development in either a web/cloud or desktop environment.
  • You enjoy learning new things, sharing your knowledge, and collaborating with colleagues 
  • You would like to work in a distributed, multinational, multicultural team on global projects
  • You will have your hands full:
    • Developing software using a range of programming languages such as C#, Python, JavaScript, and SQL
    • Collaborating with team members who are exploring solutions to complex process automation scenarios frequently involving desktop software
    • Assisting in the maintenance, integrity and quality of the application code base through code reviews, use of coding standards, version control, issue tracking, documentation, and testing (manual and automated)
    • Keeping up to date with current methods and what’s happening in the industry through hands-on experimentation with new technologies; technical reading; seminar, meet-ups, workshop conference attendance and interaction with subject matter experts
