The Opportunity

The successful candidate will be an Assistant Project Manager for either one or two large multidisciplinary projects or multiple smaller projects. The role will include streamlining the project team, enabling Engineers to concentrate on technical design, by taking responsibility for day-to-day project management, reporting directly to the Arup Project Manager or Project Lead. There is a strong likelihood that projects will be data centre focussed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Project Managers and lead multi-disciplinary design coordination from concept to implementation.
  • Manage internal and specialist teams to deliver high-quality designs within timelines and budget.
  • Coordinate with architecture, structures, MEP, and other disciplines to ensure seamless project integration.
  • Monitor design quality, project progress, documentation, reporting, and financial control.
  • Arrange and record meetings, oversee document management systems, and review project deliverables.
  • Build strong client and stakeholder relationships while driving collaboration and innovation.

Is this role right for you?

  • Degree in Engineering or Architecture, with Chartered status and PMP certification preferred.
  • Proven experience in leading design coordination on complex multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Strong client-facing experience with the ability to manage internal teams, sub-consultants, and specialist consultants.
  • Demonstrated experience in project delivery, project management processes, and commercial awareness.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage uncertainty, prioritise tasks, and drive deliverables to completion.
  • Experience in data centre, commercial, or aviation sectors with strong coordination and interface management skills.
  • Collaborative, detail-oriented, and proactive individual who enjoys innovation and solving complex challenges.
