The Opportunity

The Project Manager will lead and deliver a range of projects across multiple sectors, including transportation, water, and property, with capital values exceeding USD 50 million and tight timelines. The Project Manager is accountable to the Project Director for leading the project, managing day-to-day interfaces with the client team, ensuring project performance, and delivering services. The Project Manager has ownership of all project activities and is responsible for the successful delivery of the project under the direction of the Project Director. While the work will be based in Metro Manila, it may require occasional site visits around the Philippines.

Your role in our team

Leading projects through; 
•    Plan and supervise projects from initiation to completion.
•    Collaborate with a range of technical, contracts and commercial specialists to define scope, tasks and deliverables. 
•    Develop internal resource plans, programmes and budgets.
•    Manage the appointment of sub-contractors and supporting resources needed to deliver the project.
•    Monitor, review and report on resource use and spend and managing invoicing.
•    Make changes to and manage teams to deliver within agreed metrics.
•    Monitor progress, address delays or issues, and implement corrective actions.
•    Ensure that safety, environment and quality outcomes are identified and achieved, and take corrective action where issues are identified.
•    Liaise with and work closed with clients, and client teams, to deliver the project scope and services.
•    Preparing technical, commercial and contractual correspondence for the delivery of Arup’s services and for managing contractors appointed by clients.
•    Prepare, check and assist in the development of project outputs including designs, specifications, procurement outputs and contracts. 
•    Managing scope, recording changes and instructing the team on any necessary actions. 
•    Communicating project progress with the Project Team
•    Overseeing the interfaces between the project and any other associated projects; 
•    Capturing the knowledge gained on the project and feeding into the firm’s knowledge networks; 
•    Requesting assistance from the Project Director in a timely manner.
•    Assistance with wider team management, business/proposal development and other management team/office management functions.

Is this role right for you?

•    A minimum of 12 years of experience in construction management, with a focus on large-scale infrastructure projects. 
•    Experience of the delivery of transportation schemes, such as airports, railways and roads.
•    Some time spent managing or leading projects during construction phase.
•    Licensed Engineer.  Post graduate studies will be an advantage
•    Understanding of development process for infrastructure projects.
•    Experience with feasibility, design, procurement, contract management, testing and commissioning and project take overs.
•    Previous involvement in project management activities, with an awareness of scope definition, and contract responsibilities.
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant tools.
•    Well developed oral and written communication skills
•    Good team orientation and client relation capabilities
•    Demonstrated leadership, collaboration, and a creative approach to problem-solving with a focus on continual improvement and delivering sustainable and value-led project outcomes.
•    Experience of contract negotiations and awarding
