Working closely with our multi-disciplinary colleagues we are involved in a wide variety of projects ranging from drainage design, water treatment works improvements, pumping stations, reservoirs, sewer overflows, and flooding schemes.

The Opportunity 

Due to continued business growth and development we are seeking to recruit a Project Manager for our Belfast Energy, Water and Resources team. You will be working on projects in the water, energy, infrastructure and / or buildings sector. 

The ideal candidate will be responsible for a variety of project management activities with an emphasis on project definition and delivery. In conjunction with senior members across multidisciplinary teams, we are seeking to locate a career minded Project Manager. The overview of the requirements of the role is as follows: they will ideally be based in Belfast, with occasional travel and will report to the Client and/or Arup Project Lead to provide Project Management Support to delivery teams. 

As a critical component of the delivery team, you will be encouraged to collaborate and engage with colleagues and peers. You will be encouraged to demonstrate your experience within both a Pre- Contract Project Management and Contract Management setting. You will be supported in and encouraged to deliver both dynamic and fluid project management, but also to ensure that business cases are sound and projects aligned to support strategic initiatives. Key to your daily duties would be both project controls, assurance and general management of change and change protocols.  

We are looking for a Project Manager with curiosity, personal drive, and technical know-how. You will be as inspired as we are by the problems we are solving and excited to help our clients and lead teams delivering the solutions. Experience in the UK water and energy sectors, renewables, or civil engineering sector is desirable. You will have some appreciation of the design project cycle, from conception and feasibility through to consenting and delivery.

 

Is this right for you? 

We are looking for the following qualifications, skills and attributes : 

  • Demonstrable water, energy, infrastructure and / or major buildings project management experience; preferably both pre-construction and construction phase;
  • A relevant undergraduate degree, with a master’s or equivalent experience
  • Experience managing teams, including designer and contractor teams;
  • Willing to engage on a pathway toward chartership from a recognised institution;
  • Knowledge and understanding of design process for major projects;
  • Experience in the infrastructure capital works sector.
