Arup is seeking an experienced Project Director to lead the delivery of the new project, a major technology and industrial development initiative in Macau.

Reporting to senior project stakeholders, the successful candidate will provide strategic leadership, client engagement, and project management oversight throughout the design, procurement, construction and handover phases. This role requires an accomplished leader with extensive experience managing large-scale technology, industrial park, innovation precinct, science park, advanced manufacturing or similar complex infrastructure developments.


The Opportunity

  • Lead and direct all project management activities to ensure successful delivery of the new project in accordance with client requirements, programme, budget and quality objectives.
     
  • Serve as the primary client interface, developing and maintaining strong relationships with government authorities, client representatives, consultants, contractors and key stakeholders.
     
  • Provide strategic leadership to multidisciplinary project teams, fostering collaboration and driving high performance throughout the project lifecycle.
     
  • Oversee project governance, risk management, commercial performance, reporting, procurement and contract administration activities.
     
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable statutory, safety, environmental and quality requirements while driving excellence in project execution and stakeholder management.


Is this role right for you?

  • Proven experience delivering large-scale Technology Parks, Industrial Parks, Innovation Precincts, Science Parks, Data Centre developments, 

    Advanced Manufacturing facilities or similar complex developments.
     

  • Demonstrated success in senior client-facing roles, including stakeholder engagement, relationship management and liaison with government agencies, public sector clients or major institutional organisations.
     
  • Bachelor's degree or above in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
     
  • Minimum 20 years of relevant professional experience, including at least 15 years in construction project management, design management, construction, site supervision or related disciplines, and a minimum of 5 years in a Project Director, Deputy Director, Project Manager or equivalent leadership position.
     
  • Professional registration as an Engineer or equivalent qualification recognised in Hong Kong, Macau or Mainland China. Mainland China applicants should possess Senior Engineer qualification or Class 1 Construction Engineer certification or equivalent.
     
  • Experience serving as Project Management Director on at least one major project of comparable complexity and scale.
     
  • Strong leadership and people management capabilities with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
     
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin).
     
  • Ability to work full-time onsite in Macau.
     
  • Available to commit to an initial 18-month contract, with the intention of renewal subject to project requirements and performance.
