You will have the freedom to push boundaries, develop new skills and work on our current high-profile projects, across major energy, infrastructure and landmark building projects.
This Principal Geotechnical Engineer post is based in either Newcastle, Belfast, Glasgow or, preferably, our Edinburgh office. The role is within a multi project, multidiscipline, Ground Engineering team, playing a leading role in delivering our diverse projects across Energy, Building and Transport sectors. You will be expected to do geotechnical analysis and design, site supervision, produce drawings, specifications, and reports as well as mentoring and supervising more junior members of the team when required. You will also be encouraged and supported to contribute to cutting edge and innovative research topics.
At Arup, you belong to an extraordinary collective – in which we encourage individuality to thrive. Our strength comes from how we respect, share and connect our diverse experiences, perspectives and ideas. You will have the opportunity do socially useful work that has meaning – to Arup, to your career, to our members and to the clients and communities we serve.

- Experience in leading the management and interpretation of ground investigations in a civil engineering consultancy.
- Desire to undertake business development and build successful client relationships (both internal and external).
- Aspire to deliver net zero carbon design solutions for your clients.
