Oasys is the software house of Arup. Under the Oasys brand, we develop the Oasys LS-DYNA Environment (Primer, D3plot, T/His and Reporter) and, as Ansys Channel Partner, we distribute the LST/LS-DYNA software in the US. Our engineering software is used for simulation in automotive, nuclear and civil engineering industries.

 

Role

We are looking for a Presale/Application Engineer to support and shape our Oasys and LST/LS-DYNA software business in the Americas.

By leveraging a sound knowledge of our targeted industries and a deep expertise in our software, our Presale/Application Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support, leading customer engagements and driving presales activities. 

The role is initially based in our San Francisco office, where hybrid working is possible, as part of our Advanced Digital Engineering team.

 

Core responsibilities

You will work closely with our US Regional Manager (based in California) and our Product and Technical Support Teams to identify new customers and convert a pipeline of Oasys and LST/LS-DYNA software sales opportunities in the US.

You will engage with existing Customers, take ownership of outstanding CAE issues and provide the highest level of technical support.

You will perform Oasys and LST/LS-DYNA presales presentations to new potential Customers, understand these Users’ needs and articulate our products’ value proposition to their engineering teams.

You will drive demand, adoption and the overall success of Oasys and LST/LS-DYNA products in the region and contribute to our growth targets.

You may also instruct application-focused training classes on our products.

You will liaise with Presales/Application Representatives in other regions to coordinate activities, provide updates on product capabilities, share market intelligence and winning strategies.

Minimum qualifications, requirements and skills

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Aerospace/Civil/Computer Science or related field

Minimum of 2 years of experience in a software environment as a Presales/Application Engineer or as Finite Element Analyst within an engineering consultancy.

Advanced knowledge of LST/LS-DYNA required, applied to crash safety or other dynamic load cases

Understanding of CAE workflow in automotive and/or civil engineering industries

Coding skills using C++, Python and/or Javascript

Good communication, autonomy and ability to work with software management and development team

 

Preferred qualifications and skills

Master’s degree in Mechanical/Aerospace/Civil/Computer Science or related field

Some Market/Sales skills are preferred

Experience with building solutions using simulation technology and process automation

Prior knowledge of Oasys Software and Arup Cellbond models a definite plus

Hiring Range: The good faith base salary hiring range for this job performed in California is $76,000 and $99,000. Benefits are not included in the base salary range. Summary of benefits are included in this posting with details provided to applicants at the time of interview. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of California will differ.
