Paralegal

We are currently seeking a Paralegal interested in the built environment to be based in our New York office with primary activities including review of contracts, manage A/E corporate registrations and licenses, perform research, legal intranet administration, certificate of insurance administration, manage external law firm billing and other legal support. You will report to in-house counsel and work with/assist our in-house regional legal team comprised of attorneys and support staff.

The Opportunity  

• Reviewing and amending legal agreements and documentation including request for proposals (RFPs); bid documentation; proposal letters; professional services agreements; confidentiality agreements; supplier/vendor agreements
• Manage A/E corporate licenses, including new applications and renewals, for Americas region entities
• Advise business on A/E corporate registration and licensure requirements for new jurisdictions 
• Assist with annual insurance policy renewals, maintain policy updates, track and process annual renewals of various project-specific policies, and procure insurance certificates. 
• Undertake legal research tasks
• Work closely with corporate secretary team and external vendors
• Management of vendor invoices, external legal counsel billing, and retainers
• General file management, including electronic filing of contracts
• Preparing external correspondence 
• Assisting with the development of legal training programs and other presentations 
• Maintaining legal intranet, creating forms for internal use, and keeping information up to date

Is this role right for you?

• Four year (accredited) college degree BA/BS
• 2+ years of law firm and/or in-house legal team experience
• Strong problem-solving, strategic and creative thinking, and decision-making ability
• The ability to prioritize effectively, balance assigned work and exceptional organization skills are required for our constantly evolving environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based working
• Presentation skills 
• Discipline to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information
• Attention to detail is crucial
• Preferred but not required to have previous experience in construction industry/engineering design firm

 Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in  New York City is $85,000 to $90,000 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of New York City will differ.
