The role
We are seeking an Oracle APEX developer to design and implement Oracle APEX applications to run alongside Arup’s core finance systems. The role will also be supporting the migration of reports and maintenance forms from our legacy Oracle Forms and Reports application to Oracle APEX.
As a member of the Global Finance Systems team, you will be working closely with finance users and accountants. The role requires regular contact with stakeholders so you should be comfortable communicating with individuals at all levels, providing a consistently high level of customer experience throughout.
The role reports to the finance systems service leader, based in the United Kingdom, and is part of the Global Live Services team within Arup’s Digital Technology Group.

Responsibilities of the role include
- Provide technical ‘know-how’ in designing and developing Oracle APEX solutions from user requirements and existing legacy Oracle Forms & Reports
- Developing PL/SQL packages and procedures
- Assisting in testing and QA of developed software and processes
- Providing 3rd-line support for Arup’s finance systems by responding to and managing support requests via ServiceNow
- Maintaining user confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential
- Reporting security issues when appropriate and gather required information. Ensure adherence to security requirements

Requirements and skills
Essential skills and knowledge:
- Some years relevant experience developing Oracle APEX and able to customise the application beyond the Universal Theme
- Proven experience developing and performance tuning Oracle applications using PL/SQL and SQL
- Ability to understand requirements and communicate ideas quickly
- Good analytic skills, with ability to solve complex problems and openness in sharing your knowledge and thinking with others
- Highly motivated with a proven ability to manage priorities flexibly and meet deadlines, working on your own or as part of a team
- Strong team working skills with ability to build trusted relationships with people and groups with diverse backgrounds
- Strong editorial and quality assurance skills
Desirable:
- ITIL qualified and/or good familiarity with IT Service Management processes
- Experience developing Oracle Forms and Reports (Oracle 12c)
- Experience working in a Finance systems environment

- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent is desirable but not essential
