We’re looking for a Market and Clients Leader to play a pivotal role in shaping Arup’s presence in New Zealand’s transport infrastructure sector. In this role, you will lead complex road and highway design projects, drive business growth, and champion a client-centric approach. You'll be instrumental in delivering high-quality outcomes while fostering collaboration across our local and regional teams.

The Opportunity

•    Manage the design and delivery of major transport infrastructure projects, with a focus on complex road and highway works
•    Lead long-term planning and strategy execution in alignment with Arup’s ANZ and APAC business goals
•    Support and drive business development activities, from identifying opportunities to overseeing bids and client engagement
•    Build and maintain high-level relationships with clients, contractors, government agencies, and industry partners
•    Promote integrated service delivery across disciplines, while mentoring and developing internal teams

At Arup, you belong to an extraordinary collective – in which we encourage individuality to thrive. Our strength comes from how we respect, share and connect our diverse experiences, perspectives and ideas.
You will have the opportunity do socially useful work that has meaning – to Arup, to your career, to our members and to the clients and communities we serve.

Is this role right for you?

•    Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering (or similar) with Chartered status or eligibility
•    Extensive experience in design management for large-scale infrastructure projects within a consulting environment
•    Deep knowledge of New Zealand transport regulations, design standards, and OH&S practices
•    Proven ability to win work, lead multidisciplinary teams, and deliver successful financial and technical project outcomes
•    Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative leadership style and client-first mindset
