There are three primary areas of focus for this role as a Mechanical Engineer:

Business Development/Project Inception: significant contribution to the business development activities of MEP team (Mechanical Services & Sustainable development) through the following:
 - The promotion of the relevant businesses
 - Success in development and procurement of worthwhile projects to ensure the maintenance of workflow, not only to the MEP team but also to other teams across the Division.

Technical/Project Management: As part of the MEP team, to provide input into the overall running of projects (particularly in the Mechanical Services area) to ensure successful project delivery, and the ongoing development of the Team’s effective project management and technical capability.
Managerial: To contribute to the strategic development of the MEP business, including (but not limited to) the positioning of the business within the local marketplace, business plan development and evaluation, and the ongoing development of associated skills and procedures within the Unit.


The Opportunity

  • Hands on concept and detailed Mechanical design for a range of projects, in a lead discipline engineer role.
  • Provide design calculations, drawings and specifications.
  • Project and team administration duties as well as producing project related correspondence and reports.
  • Work directly with clients and other professionals with minimal supervision. Develop and maintain good relationships with industry networks, clients, government agencies, sub-consultants and construction contractors relevant to the MEP team’s activities.
  • Management of small project teams. Where you will endeavor to develop and administer project monitoring, control mechanisms, and deliver quality work within the MEP team.

Is this role right for you?

  • Recognized relevant tertiary qualifications in Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering
  • At least 5 years of detailed mechanical design experience with an engineering consultancy.
  • Membership of relevant professional institutions/professional peer bodies or significant credit towards eligibility for membership.
  • Good working knowledge of relevant local and international legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and guidelines.
  • Having Data Centre design experience is an added advantage.
