The Opportunity

We are looking for a lawyer with experience of construction law, professional services, professional indemnity insurance and/or related fields. Must be a qualified lawyer, ideally with around 2-4 years PQE, gained in private practice or as part of an in-house team. You will provide legal support and advice on a broad range of issues relevant to a professional services business, including reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, ongoing project advice, dispute resolution and broader strategic matters.

As a Legal Counsel at Arup, you will

• Draft and review standard/non-standard forms of contracts and other commercial contracts with limited supervision
• Prepare for and conduct more complex negotiations either individually or with senior support
• Work directly with the business to provide legal advice and support in defined areas
• Advise on more complex contractual arrangements such as Joint Ventures, working with contractors or disputes
• Provide input into the ongoing skills development of others within the legal team and identify areas of improvement for the benefit of the whole team
