Based in Perth, this newly created role in our legal team focuses on providing varied legal advice to Arup’s Asia Pacific (APAC) Region, with a primary focus on front-end advice to the business in Australia, New Zealand, and South East Asia.

The Opportunity

  • Provide varied legal advice to the APAC Region.
  • Engage in legal training and development opportunities in the APAC Region.
  • Offer front-end advice and negotiation support on key contractual risks in Arup’s consulting services engagements.
  • Provide project lifecycle advice and contract management support during the delivery of services in accordance with contractual requirements (e.g., advice on variations, programme changes, and contract notices).
  • Assist with claims management to the regional disputes lead lawyer.
  • Offer general legal advice to the business on legislative and regulatory compliance (e.g., data privacy, anti-bribery, and corruption).
  • Participate in legal team meetings and development initiatives.
  • Act as a positive influence in the business to achieve sensible and commercial contract outcomes.

Is this role right for you?

  • Current legal practising certificate.
  • 3-4 years PQE experience.
  • Knowledge of construction law and the construction industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
