DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Registered Engineer either Structural, Mechanical or Electrical Engineer.
- 8 - 10 years of technical experience in carrying out fire engineering design and audit/assessment including project management and business development experience.
- Has extensive experience on building fire safety strategy, safety audits, complemented with sound knowledge on fire safety management.
- Has sound theoretical fire engineering approach with creative and innovative development. Good application of theory to practice.
- Has achieved a professional qualification i.e. Chartership, Fire Engineer Institute, Professional Fire Engineer, PME, PEE, etc.) with recognised professional institutions i.e. NFPA, PSME, IIEE, etc.) or can demonstrate the equivalent level of professional level of professional knowledge experience and skill.
- Must have at least one of the following credentials:
- LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) with specialty (BD+C,ID+C, O+M, ND, Homes)
- WELL Accredited Professional
- BERDE Certified Professional
- Low Carbon Consultant/Low Carbon Assesor
- Residential/Commercial Energy Auditor
- Other credentials focused on sustainability and sustainable development.
- Has strong global fire engineering network where sound knowledge and expertise on local and international fire engineering codes, standards and regulations such as IBC, UBC, NBC, NFPA, Fire Code of the Philippines, etc.
- Must have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) and must have the ability to identify design opportunities from which the SDGs may be achieved.
- Must have a general understanding of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Accounting, Climate Change Mitigation, Science-based Targets, Net-Zero strategies, Decarbonization pathways, Carbon Neutrality, Materiality Assessment, Life Cycle Analysis, Sustainability and Corporate Supply Chain Risks, etc.
- Knowledge of consulting experience and successful project management experience in the Building Services /MEPF sector. Highly experience in multiple building design related system such as Mechanical, Electrical, Sanitary, Fire, Structural, & Architectural.
- Be able to demonstrate strong design ability and fire engineering solutions on major and/or complex projects.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops cost-effective and strategic low-energy design approaches and methodologies, and formulate means and tools of quantifying and validating achievement of sustainability targets.
- Directly liase with client stakeholders in identifying sustainability risks, mitigation measures and opportunities for sustainability strategies.
- Supervise preparation of comprehensive assessment and/or gap analysis of design documents in accordance to generally acceptable green building rating systems such as LEED, WELL, BREEA, BERDE, etc.
- Develop and maintain good relationships with industry networks, clients, government agencies, sub-consultants, and construction contractors relevant to the Buildings team’s activities
- Assist section leader on business development
- Supervise/prepare proposals/bid submissions and negotiate contracts within the building team’s framework for such activity. Author proposal on small to medium range projects
- Develop and administer project monitoring and control mechanisms within the group. Prepares Project Plan, PFF, project programme, resources, scope, project output, deliverables, and documentations.
- Represents ARUP professionally in pre-bid meetings, coordination meetings and client meetings.
- Reviews contract upon the Section Leader’s direction.
- Acts as a Project Leader on assigned projects
- Supervises group of engineers in the accomplishments of their respective tasks.
- Monitor and manage staff/resources, projects and budgets (cost, time charging, etc.)
- Monitor performance and development of others by providing guidance, training, motivational and directional feedback.
- Develop and review schedule of activities for assigned projects
- Monitor progress and development of skills of team members.
- Comply with the Quality Management System of Arup.
- Author and review assigned project reports.
