About this role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Process Engineer with development and design experience to join the growing energy team in WA. The focus of this role is to support WA infrastructure projects and be instrumental to the development of new skills, total life cycle design, asset management, operations and maintenance, supporting the development of the Energy team’s capability, and consequential business growth.
The role will operate across all Infrastructure Groups engaged in energy projects whilst coordinating regionally with other offices and businesses including Buildings and Consulting.

What will I do?

  • Bid and project manage green and blue hydrogen/ammonia projects including all aspects of the hydrogen supply chain (production, storage, transport etc)
  • Lead design bids with regards to scope, budget estimates and schedule and liaise with consultants, contractors and clients
  • Provide technical leadership to the design teams on all aspects of production plant and storage engineering and design whilst developing a healthy working relationship with clients
  • Lead and coordinate (design /project manage) engineering resources and specialists in WA and, where applicable across Australasia in the design of production plants, storage, pipelines and other aspects of the supply chain 
  • Provide technical and other support to Arup Energy’s client and business development activities which might include (but not be limited to) client facing engagement, capability statement development, client introductions etc

What will I bring?

  • Recognised relevant tertiary qualification in Chemical/Process Engineering with a primary focus on Design Management, Design and Design Review for Hydrogen/Ammonia developments
  • Detail understanding of Hydrogen/Ammonia developments as well as requirements across energy markets and sub-markets for example the green energy supply requirements (solar, wind, hydro) for Hydrogen Production Facilities or the installation of grid level BESS. 
  • Recognised technical leader that can win bids and provide support for bids that have Hydrogen/Ammonia as either the primary context or a secondary sub-element, including estimation. 
  • Relevant industry experience in Engineering Design and Development Management within a consulting business environment;
  • Membership of relevant professional institutions/professional peer bodies or significant credit towards eligibility for membership
