The Opportunity 

Working with the Infrastructure, Transportation and Civils Team, the Engineer will provide leadership or provide support in delivery of master planning, technical due diligence, feasibility studies, preliminary and detailed engineering design of various projects. 

Provide site-wide and road grading design, road network layouts, pavement designs, design of cut and fill arrangements, design of stormwater drainage, sewerage collection, potable water and firewater network and distribution system, and utility corridors to support project site development. 

The role is based in Manila office.

 

Your role in our team

  • Technical leadership in the delivery of wide range of infrastructure projects such as linear infrastructure (eg. road, rail, utilities), water projects, energy projects, and large site development projects.  
  • Works mainly without supervision, capable of leading a small team of engineers and technicians  
  • Resource planning, supervision, management of engineering & design team for timely project delivery.  
  • Attends, participate and chair kick-off, progress and coordination meetings on various projects with clients’ / stakeholders’ higher level of engineers 
  • Documents and archives project related documents such as correspondences, drawings and reports.  
  • Authors official documents and technical reports, including setting up the overall framework of the document 
  • Provide master planning, technical due diligence, feasibility, concept, preliminary and detailed design roles. 
  • Technical due diligence and site development master planning 
  • Assessment and analysis of natural terrain and site conditions  
  • Develop site grading, earthworks and road grading plans 
  • Design layouts of road network, site-wide drainage & sewerage network and collection system, site-wide potable water and firewater network and distribution system, including layout design of utility corridors (fiber, telecoms, electrical, etc.) in accordance with relevant technical standards and code of practices 
  • Design of pavement (rigid/flexible) and drainage in accordance with AASHTO, FHWA, DPWH and other relevant standards 
  • Provides project teams with engineering information on road routes, alignment, structure locations and other physical data. 
  • Produces civil drawings 
  • Ensures timely submission of outputs to the project team  
  • Coordinates work with other disciplines. 
  • Regularly reports drawing status to the Project Manager 
  • Conducts site visits  
  • Fulfils other responsibilities assigned from time to time

Is this role right for you?

  • Licensed Engineer (Civil Engineer or Environmental and Sanitary Engineer); post-graduate studies (Msc or PhD) will be an advantage. 
  • With at least 8 years’ relevant experience, preferably gained from multi-disciplinary consulting firms and similar industries 
  • Experience in linear infrastructure (roads, highways, bridges, railways), water (RWTP, WWTP, STP, transmission pipelines, sewer network), energy (solar, wind, hydropower, AC/DC substations, transmission), marine infrastructure (ports, coastal protection) and large site development projects (airports, reclamation, industrial parks, residential communities, property developments). 
  • Practical knowledge of AASHTO, FHWA, DPWH (DGCS, Blue Book) and other related local / international standards and code of practices 
  • Hands-on, practical experience and interoperability resolution of various engineering and design tools such as AutoCAD/MicroStation, Civil3D/ OpenRoads, ArcGIS, HEC-RAS/HMS, Water/SewerGEMS, Infoworks-ICM, and other similar software.  
  • Hands-on and practical experience with infrastructure BIM-modelling tools such as Infraworks will be an advantage 
  • Organised and structured approach to tasks. 
  • Able to work on several projects at the same time, without sacrificing quality of output 
  • Initiative and technical ingenuity in solving design problems 
  • Good oral and written English communication skills; fluency with other local dialects and foreign languages is a plus 
  • Visualisation, dashboard and data presentation skills. 
  • Hands-on application or practical experience with numerical programming (eg. as C++, VB, SQL, Python), visual programming (eg. Grasshopper, Dynamo, Power BI, GeometryGym, Salamander, Karamba, etc.), automation tools (eg. AutoIT, Speckle), gaming engine (Unity, Blender) and API or COM interface is a definite advantage 
  • Hands-on application and practical experience on presentation and visualisation tools such as SketchUp, Power BI, Studio Viz/Max is a definite advantage.
