The Opportunity

As a Lead / Associate Geotechnical Engineer, you will:
- Lead and mentor: Act as a line manager and mentor for a team of engineers, guiding their career development, fostering a culture of collaboration, and championing their success.
- Drive technical excellence: Provide expert guidance and leadership in advanced numerical analysis (geotechnics and structures), ensuring the highest quality of technical delivery on complex, high-profile projects.
- Champion advanced modelling: Lead the application of sophisticated finite element (FE) software (e.g., PLAXIS, LS-DYNA), acting as a subject matter expert and upskilling others within the team.
- Develop business and client relationships: Contribute to the strategic growth of the team by supporting bids, strengthening client relationships, and representing Arup's technical credibility in the market.

- A minimum of 10 years of experience in a geotechnical or structural consultancy, with a proven track record in project delivery and team leadership/mentoring.
- Expert-level proficiency in advanced finite element (FE) software (e.g., PLAXIS, LS-DYNA) and a deep understanding of advanced constitutive modelling.
- A degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering (Master’s or PhD is highly desirable).
- Excellent communication, influencing, and leadership skills in both Spanish and English.
- Strong commercial awareness with a client-focused mindset to identify and develop business opportunities.
