Junior Structural Engineer

The Opportunity

We're seeking a Junior Structural Engineer for our Istanbul/Ankara office to strengthen our Structural Team for local and international projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to kickstart your career and contribute to innovative projects while working alongside experienced engineers.

As a Junior Structural Engineer at Arup, you will:

• Review structural documents such as drawings, calculation reports, and geotechnical reports for existing buildings.
• Conduct on-site visual inspections of buildings and identify any discrepancies in construction.
• Verify structural member capacities through hand calculations.
• Assist in 3D modeling, analysis, and design of various types of structures.
• Support the preparation of calculations and reports throughout all design stages.
• Review construction drawings before submission.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a reputable university.
• Master's degree in Structural and/or Earthquake Engineering is preferred.
• Up to 2 years of relevant design experience (including internships).
• Ability to read and interpret structural drawings (essential).
• Working knowledge of standard office software (MS Office, CAD).
• Familiarity with common structural analysis software.
• Knowledge of coding languages is a plus.
• Experience with local and major international codes is beneficial.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
• Self-motivated, eager to learn, and willing to take on new challenges.
• Effective communication and presentation skills.
• Strong teamwork skills and a results-oriented approach.
• Willingness to travel nationally and internationally.
• Completed military service (for male Turkish candidates).
