The Opportunity:

We are looking for a Geologist Intern to join the team in Milan. This is a unique opportunity for technically passionate engineer to accelerate their professional growth, contributing to national and international projects and driving innovation. 

As a Geologist Intern at Arup, you will:

Support the Infrastructure and Structural teams across a wide range of national and international projects, engaging in field and office-based activities under the supervision of senior staff.

Conduct geological and hydrogeological assessments, geo-hazard studies, desk studies, and preparation of conceptual ground models.

Plan, supervise, and report on ground investigations, ensuring accurate data collection and comprehensive reporting.

Prepare specifications and reports, ensuring clarity and precision.

Support the development of the team, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration.

Contribute to geological and hydrogeological research in collaboration with Arup Skills Networks, Universities, and research partners.

We’re looking for graduates who are passionate about technical excellence and innovation. We also value:

Master degree in Geology or equivalent (acquired or to be acquired within the current year);

Plan to acquire membership with a relevant professional body (Ordine dei Geologi);

Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills (including formal and information presentations, written communications, and reports);

Knowledge of one hydrogeological software packages would be an advantage;

Interest and proficiency in digital space 3D modelling, scripting, or GIS would be an advantage;

Developing interest in sustainability would be an advantage;

High motivation, proactivity and willingness to take on new challenges;

Flexibility to travel.
