The Opportunity
Arup Engineered Architecture is a team of 22 Architects based in central London, part of a large multidisciplinary engineering team with a focus on Data Centres Design.
We are part of Arup’s global network of 450 Architects, urban planners and landscape designers. Our ambition is to deliver fully coordinated, technically innovative, and efficient, data centres buildings which are purposeful and beautiful. We are currently expanding our team due to the increasing demand in the Data Centre construction industry. We design data centres tailored to our client’s needs, with focus on deployment on a global scale in line with the demand for data storage and increasing computational power. We are at the forefront of the industry, we lead with our clients a global revolution in data storage facilities prioritising sustainability, prefabrication, integration and future-proof thinking.

As an Architect in our team, you will be part of the delivery of significant, technical and complex projects in the Science and Industry and Technology sectors, working as part of a large, multi-disciplinary team to deliver innovative and sustainable ‘Total Architecture’ on an international scale. We are looking for talented technical Architects who are ambitious and curious with excellent command of Revit and excellent personal, written and graphic communication skills.
The role will see you:
Contributing to the successful delivery of technically complex, high performance Data Centre projects under the guidance of the architectural leadership team, taking ownership of technical tasks and ensuring high-quality outputs throughout the design and coordination process.
Developing detailed technical drawings and architectural documentation for data centre projects using REVIT as the primary design and coordination tool.
Collaborating with other disciplines to produce fully coordinated project information including BIM models, drawings, schedules and specifications.
- Assisting in the preparation of architectural specifications, focusing on materials, systems, and construction methods relevant to mission-critical facilities
Is this role right for you?
We’re looking for a candidate who:
Holds a recognised Diploma in Architecture or Master of Architecture (MArch), and is working at RIBA Part 2 or Part 3 level. Part 3 is preferred, though not essential—demonstrated technical expertise and delivery capability are key
Is proficient in Revit, with experience producing and managing coordinated architectural and BIM models for complex, multidisciplinary projects.
Demonstrates strong architectural detailing skills and a solid understanding of construction systems, materials, and technical coordination.
Has experience working on data centre projects or similarly complex, highly serviced building types (e.g. laboratories, hospitals, industrial facilities).
Communicates clearly and professionally, with strong verbal, written, and graphic communication skills in English.
