The Opportunity

Play a Key role in shaping sustainable and energy-efficient solutions by joining our Sustainability Team as an Industrial Energy Auditor! Your expertise will directly influence the transition to greener buildings and corporate sustainability practices, making a tangible difference in combating climate change.

You'll have the chance to contribute to designing nearly zero-emission buildings (NZEB). 

Drive innovation in energy efficiency, and collaborate on impactful policies at city and national levels.

 

As an Industrial Energy Auditor at Arup, you will:

  • Work closely with multidisciplinary design teams to help building designs to be energy efficient at the concept design stage.
  • Develop sustainability policies and capacity assessments for municipalities and ministries,
  • Able to audit mechanical and electrical equipment in commercial and industrial facilities, develop ECM's (energy conversation measures) and calculate the energy and cost savings associated to each ECM,
  • Developing 2050 zero-emission pathways for buildings or building portfolios,
  • Staying up to date with Türkiye, EU and global energy/resource efficiency policies,
  • Sustainable building certification consultancy (LEED,BREEAM or DGNB),
  • Building Energy Modelling (BEM) using OpenStudio, EnergyPlusorIESVE,
  • Commercial and preferably industrial building energy audits (detailed and preliminary)

Does this role inspire you?

We're looking for someone who is passionate about advancing energy efficiency and sustainable building design. We also value:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering,
  • Having energy auditor and preferably energy manager certifications from Ministry or Energy and Natural Resources (Certified Energy Auditor - CEA and Certified Energy Manager -CEM),
  • Excellent command of both Turkish and English,
  • At least 5 years' experience in combination of the following responsibilities:
    -(building) mechanical designer
    -energy auditor
    -certified measurement and verification expert (mechanical and electrical systems)
    -resident engineer in mechanical installation projects
    -technical engineer working in sustainability, decarbonization or climate change projects.
  • Have a driver's license,
  • No travel restrictions (national & internationally),
  • No military obligation for male candidates.

Preferred Qualifications

  • LEED AP (Accredited Professional) or GA (Green Associate) certification,
  • BREEAM Assessor or AP certification,
  • Competency in OpenStudio (EnergyPlus) building energy modelling software,
  • Competency in IESVE building energy modelling software,
  • Building Energy Modeling Professional Certification (BEMP),
  • Certified Measurement and Verification Professional,
  • Knowledge or competence or building life-cycle assessment,
  • Knowledge of embodied carbon in buildings,
  • Knowledge of solar power, biomass and deep geothermal (renewables),
  • Experience working in global firms, projects funded by IFI's, working with municipalities and ministries is a plus,
  • Having done the measurements or leading a measurement campaign for an energy retrofit project is a plus.
