Job Title: Health and Safety Consultant
Location: London

Job overview
•    To provide general health and safety advice and systems support for a range of internal and external clients in delivering health and safety management solutions for operational and maintenance activities.
•    These services will vary across the range of strategic guidance, management system development, risk management and assessment, Policy and Procedure development, inspections and audits and developing and implementing training programmes.

Role
•    To work as a member of the firm’s Health and Safety Consultancy team in providing health and safety services to both internal and external clients.  
•    Responsible for carrying out the full range of health and safety and risk management services with minimal acclimatisation on new projects.  
•    Consultancy services include all the strategic, tactical and operational aspects of our clients’ businesses. These will include writing policies and standards, carrying out inspections and audits, writing project progress reports, engaging directly with clients on a project basis.
•    Additionally, actively contribute to the business development of the team and the wider company, assisting with bids and proposals. Involvement in managing finances of projects is a key requirement as is the ability to establish long term client relationships and to identify potential opportunities.
•    Although this role is to deliver general health and safety consultancy, knowledge of CDM and construction safety would be an advantage. 

Requirements and Skills
•    Able to identify and address differences and assist in resolving potential conflicts.
•    Can be firm whilst maintaining good relations with all parties.
•    Ability to liaise with stakeholders and manage sensitive relationships.
•    Able to maintain good communications with the client.
•    Able to succinctly report progress and author reports that do the same.
•    Experience of working within multidisciplinary teams.
•    Able to front corporate training in a knowledgeable and authoritative manner.

Competencies
•    Degree or equivalent in an engineering or science subject.
•    GradIOSH and working towards chartership.
•    Experience delivering a broad range of health and safety related advice with experience in high hazard sector eg chemical, oil/gas, nuclear, energy or pharmaceutical sectors.  
•    Good client facing and excellent communication (verbal and written) skills, self-motivated.
