Since 2001, Arup has provided engineering, design, business advisory, program management services on more than 50 offshore wind projects with 15 GW capacity from pre-bid to commercial operation phases. Arup has the skills and experience to be a trusted delivery partner across an offshore wind project’s lifecycle. Our team combines a blend of technical, commercial and advisory skills including structural, geotechnical and civil engineering capabilities, ports and maritime expertise, technical due diligence, program and project management, owner’s engineering, power systems engineering, and risk management consulting.

We seek a highly motivated US Offshore Wind Leader. You will own the development of the Arup offering in advisory and engineering services. The focus would initially be on the West Coast of the US but would expand to other locations as well as supporting the global offshore wind team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide strategic and entrepreneurial leadership and management focused on the scope of the offshore wind business.
  • Deliver business insight, thought leadership, drive business growth and profitability, collaborate with Arup members as well as offshore wind client sector to mutually beneficial outcomes and positive relationships.
  • Influence, communicate and instill trust as well as maintaining relations with all internal and external candidates for the long-term prosperity of the business.
  • Project leadership that will entail scoping contracted services, building and mentoring teams and delivering on the scope of work with the business leader commonly, but not always, assuming project director responsibilities
  • Business and resource planning that is coordinated with geography and discipline managers to achieve long term success.

Qualifications:

  • Have at least 20 years’ professional consulting experience in North America marine and offshore energy infrastructure preliminary design and detailed design services.
  • Experience developing teams to deliver the work that is won because of the business development efforts.
  • Sound understanding of commercial and financial issues in the winning and execution of professional services commissions.
  • Have experience as a hands-on project director leading multi-million-dollar fee engineering, advisory, or consulting professional services in the energy sector with demonstrated successful financial, technical, and relationship outcomes.
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field such as civil, marine or related field.
  • PE or PMP certification or ability to obtain the certification within 1 year of employment.

Los Angeles Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Los Angeles is $240,000 to $300,000 per year. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Los Angeles will differ.
