As part of our in-house Visual Communications team, you will have the opportunity to partner with designers, experts, and creatives across Arup, contributing to projects at all stages of design.

We are looking for a talented Graphic Designer to join our Visual Communications Team in Toronto. This role will provide graphic support for our 16 regional offices across the Americas, which include over 2,100 members in the United States, Canada, and Colombia. Our Canadian offices in Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, and Ottawa have a total of over 600 members.
This role will require someone who understands and can communicate the value of a strong brand by creating impactful designs and championing its guidelines, templates, and visual identity. You'll work as a part of a close-knit team of designers, communications, and marketing professionals that collaborate with a large assortment of technical and business service partners.
Is this role right for you?
In this role, you will:
• Develop, design, and produce engaging graphics and promotional materials including but not limited to infographics, presentations, brochures, reports, newsletters, interactive documents, event collateral, email and social media content, and advertisements
• Meet, engage, and collaborate with marketing, technical, and business development teams to create graphics that will require conceptual thinking, problem-solving, and storytelling skills
• Serve as an ambassador to our staff on all matters related to brand and creative, including communicating the value of our brand by providing reviews, trainings, and resources for best practices
• Develop, manage, and collaborate on team initiatives
Qualifications:
• A degree in Graphic Design or related field with three to six years design experience in a professional or in-house setting
• Expert knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
• In InDesign, must be skilled in working with multipage document layouts, designing bespoke report templates, and updating documents to meet brand requirements
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Word
• Experience with Figma, Procreate, illustration, animation, video editing, web design, and/or photography is a plus
• Enthusiasm for design, meticulous attention to detail, and willingness to learn and take on new challenges
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Proactive attitude, capable of working both independently and within a collaborative team environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to analyze and articulate design, and review content for grammar and spelling
• Strong presentation skills and comfortable presenting to teams and groups.
• Experience with accessible document design a plus
• Knowledge of French preferred but not required; must be able to effectively layout content in different languages
• A strong portfolio that demonstrates your visual communications skills including multipage document design, branding, and infographics

Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Toronto is $64,000 to $74,000 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Toronto will differ.
