The Opportunity
We are looking for a junior water engineer, to enhance our hydraulic modelling and civil design team. We are looking for someone who is passionate about rivers and the whole environment from source to sea, from mountain to city. We specialise in delivering innovative solutions on both a local and catchment scale, founded on nature-based systems and novel, low carbon technology.
Arup provide high level advisory / strategic thinking in the water and environment sector, we deliver detailed design services, we provide construction supervision, and technical advice on asset health. We invest in our own bespoke research every year, often working in partnerships, to develop our knowledge and digital tools. You will have the opportunity to work across all levels of engineering, science and research and learn from a welcoming, talented team around you.
The role is based in Manila office.
Your role in our team
- You will be joining a technical delivery team working on a wide variety of global projects (particularly in the United Kingdom) as well as local assignments. These include wastewater and stormwater catchment studies, nature-based regenerative solutions of all kinds, flood risk and river health analysis, civil structures, wastewater and stormwater treatment, and environmental flood mitigation projects across our client frameworks.

- You will have the opportunity to work in packages such as the full Innovyze ICM suite, SAGIS, ArcGIS, MIKE and Tuflow. You will also be encouraged, should you wish, to develop your digital skills including the likes of Python and FME.

- Background civil, sanitary, or environmental engineering, or any related discipline
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Has confidence in communicating at all levels of the organization
- Has a recognized engineering professional qualification (PRC license)
- Ideally, has basic knowledge in the use of GIS software (QGIS, ArcGIS/ArcMap, or any similar software)
- Ideally, has experience within hydraulic modelling of wastewater networks
- Ideally, has experience delivering flooding assessments and assessing catchment risks
- Ideally, has advanced skills in data analytics, assessing monitor data, and catchment modelling
- Candidates with less than three (3) years of experience and/or fresh graduates with strong engineering background are encouraged to apply for the role.
