The opportunity
- Work alongside and learn from a global team of seasoned theatre planning consultants
- Contribute to the planning and design of performing arts projects from the outset and through all project stages.
- Provide support to theatre planning team in the layout and planning of performance venues and in the design and specification of technical systems performance lighting system, performance sound, video and communications, performance stage machinery and rigging systems, audience seating systems.
- Participate in the design of performing arts facilities and work to optimize designs for the venue operators, artists, audiences, production staff and administrators who use the facility.
- Develop and manage building programs, planning narratives basis of design documentation, coordination drawings, tender drawings and specifications and commissioning documentation.
- Contribute to the development of venue equipment cost estimates
- Contribute to compliance with relevant codes and standards
- Contribute to the integration of infrastructure for theatre equipment in the design of performing arts buildings
- Review drawings and documents that incorporate theatre infrastructure and equipment for technical compliance with design intent
- Undertake theatre equipment commissioning tasks under supervision of the project manager

Qualifications
Required:
- Completed Bachelor's degree in Technical Theatre, Architecture, or Engineering
- Experience in one or a combination of the following skills: theatre planning and programming, theatre equipment design for performing arts buildings, performance lighting and systems design, performance rigging and stage machinery systems design, theatre performance sound, video and communications system design, scenic design, theatre electrician work, scenery construction and logistics
- Experience in theatre, theatre consulting, production management or technical theatre
- Proven ability in technical document preparation and presentation
- The ability to prioritize effectively, balance assigned work and exceptional organization skills required for our constantly evolving environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based working
- Presentation skills with colleagues and clients of all levels
- Candidate must be eligible to work in the US without the need for employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future to be considered for this role
Preferred:
- Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Technical Theatre, Architecture, or Engineering.
- Experience in AutoCAD, Revit, and Rhino is an advantage.
- Experience in theatre, theatre consulting, production management, technical design, or technical theatre.

Los Angeles Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Los Angeles, CA is $72,500 to $79,500 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Los Angeles, CA will differ.
San Francisco Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in San Francisco, CA is $75,500 to $82,500 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of San Francisco, CA will differ.
