The Opportunity
You will work on defined tasks within your appointed Business Unit with limited supervision.
As a graduate, you’ll support senior staff in analysing information, producing designs and calculations, and preparing specifications, proposals, and documentation. You’ll apply a variety of standard methods and techniques in problem-solving and will be responsible for delivering accurate, high-quality work, which may include reports, letters, standard documents, and presentations.
You will also participate in a wide range of diversity, equity, and inclusion activities throughout your journey with Arup. You’ll connect with fellow graduates across the Asia Pacific (APAC) Region through our stimulating and inclusive Graduate Induction Programme.
We support your journey to professional accreditation through project experience and structured learning via our online platform and in-house training. You’ll also be encouraged to take advantage of cross-disciplinary rotations and international mobility programmes to accelerate your growth.
Is this role right for you?
We’re looking for motivated and creative graduates interested in a career in design consultancy, particularly in:
• Plumbing & Fire Protection Engineering
You should be able to design and deliver engineering solutions under pressure and meet strict deadlines. Strong planning, organisational, and communication skills (in both English and Thai) are essential.
As a graduate, you’ll be expected to build key technical knowledge and consultancy skills through relevant design, modelling, and analytical work. A structured development programme will support you in reaching your professional goals. This position reports to both the MEP Team Leader and the Plumbing and Fire Protection Leader for day-to-day responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
• Work on defined tasks within your appointed Business Unit with limited supervision
• Assist senior engineers in analysis, design, and technical documentation
• Contribute to specifications, proposals, and reports
• Apply standard engineering techniques to solve project challenges
• Ensure high-quality, timely submissions of your work
• Clearly communicate information in an organised manner
Specific tasks may include:
Cold Water and Sanitary Plumbing Systems
• Design requirements
• Pump system calculations
• Distribution piping design
Fire Protection Systems
• Sprinkler systems
• Hose reel systems
• Wet and dry risers
• Fire alarm and detection systems
• Portable fire extinguishers
• Gaseous suppression systems
Additional tasks:
• Familiarise with local authority requirements, codes, and standards
• Coordinate with other disciplines within Arup
• Collaborate with clients, architects, structural engineers, and other consultants
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or a relevant field
• Able to design and deliver engineering solutions effectively
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Excellent planning, organisation, and communication skills
• Good in English and Fluent in Thai
