The Opportunity

Launch your engineering career by working on complex, real-world projects that are transforming cities and communities. As a Graduate Mechanical Engineer at Arup, you will:

• Assist in sustainable building design, focusing on carbon reduction, energy efficiency, and resilience.
• Develop your 3D modeling skills using BIM/CAD software, creating designs that meet high sustainability standards.
• Contribute to mechanical load calculations, energy modeling, and the design of HVAC systems, energy storage, and renewable energy solutions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects and electrical engineers, to deliver integrated, impactful solutions.
• Participate in site visits, client meetings, and project workshops to gain hands-on experience and industry exposure.

• Currently pursuing, or recently graduated with, a degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline (HBO level or higher).
• Strong command of both Dutch and English (oral and written).
• A passion for designing sustainable, resilient buildings that make a positive impact on the environment.
• Motivated, proactive, and eager to learn new concepts and technologies.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative and international environment.

Wat ga je doen?

Als Graduate Mechanical Engineer bij Arup werk je in een multidisciplinair team samen met getalenteerde senior engineers en mentoren die de ambitie delen om een betere wereld te creëren. Je werkt aan iconische projecten, variërend van laboratoria, datacentra, musea, commerciële en residentiële gebouwen die allemaal bijdragen aan de duurzame ontwikkeling van onze steden.

Ons doel is om jou te helpen in het verder ontwikkelen van een scala aan technische vaardigheden en deze in te zetten om nieuwe, opmerkelijke resultaten te creëren. Met de begeleiding en ondersteuning van onze senior engineers krijgt jij de kans om meer ervaring op te doen op het gebied van:

• Duurzaam ontwerp (koolstofreductie, energie-efficiëntie, veerkrachtige gebouwen).
• 3D- modellering en BIM/CAD- software.
• Software voor het modelleren van energiedistributie en -opwekking.
• Berekeningen van elektrische belasting.
• Ontwerp van stroom-, verlichtings-, brandalarm-, telecommunicatie- en beveiligingssystemen en ruimteplanning.
• Coördinatie van multidisciplinaire vereisten vanuit de mechanische, volksgezondheids-, brand- en andere disciplines.

Wie ben jij?

Jij kunt je identificeren met onze visie en wil graag in een internationale omgeving meewerken aan de vele, vaak iconische, projecten van Arup. Om ervoor te zorgen dat Arup topkwaliteit kan blijven leveren zijn wij op zoek naar kandidaten die minimaal aan de volgende criteria voldoen:

• Een afgeronde technishe opleiding (werktuigbouwkunde) op minimal HBO nivaeu.
• Beschikt over een uitstekende beheersing van de Nederlandse en Engelse taal (mondeling en schriftellijk).
• Hebt interesse in bouwontwerpen die een betere en duurzamere toekomst creëren.
• Je bent gemotiveerd, gedreven en leergierig.
• Je bent enthousiast, proactief en werkt graag in een collaboratieve en internationale omgeving.

Wat kun je van Arup verwachten?

Je gaat werken bij een van de meest inventieve ingenieurs- en adviesbureaus in de wereld! Arup heeft 18.000 mensen in dienst die vanuit 40 landen wereldwijd aan de meest bijzondere en complexe projecten werken. In deze rol krijg je begeleiding, ondersteuning en mentorschap van getalenteerde en deskundige senior engineers. Daarnaast is het ook mogelijk om voor korte- of lange termijn te werken in een van onze kantoren in het buitenland.
