The Opportunity
As part of our 2023 Graduate Programme an exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated Graduate Landscape Architect to join Arup Ireland’s Masterplanning & Landscape Architecture Team.

Your responsibilities:

  • To work on multidisciplinary projects across Ireland, Europe and the world.
  • To assist with all stages of landscape and urban design analysis, conceptual design, planning, detail design and construction.
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations, design reports, specifications, visual impact assessments, research work and other documentation.
  • To develop and enhance your skills to produce, deliver and present exceptional work for our clients and colleagues.
  • To work in a culture that is inclusive, nurturing and challenging.
  • To further your development with tailored professional and personal development plan, workshops, access to our skills network and Arup University. 

 

We seek the following qualifications, attributes, and skills:

  • A recognised degree in Landscape Architecture. MA Level qualifications are desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent design skills along with strong analysis, research, drawing and written skills.
  • Strong skills and knowledge in detail design, planting, and material selection – and an appreciation of their impacts on wider environmental agendas and ecology.
  • Competency in AutoCAD, Adobe Package and Microsoft Office.
  • Revit, Rhino, Sketch Up and GIS are desirable but not essential.
  • Great verbal, written and graphic communication skills.
  • Good planning, organisation and team working skills.
  • Previous relevant work experience would be an advantage but not essential.

 

Some of our team’s exciting projects:

  • Galway Green Space Strategy - Our team are currently working closely with Galway City Council and the Galway community to develop a strategy and series of masterplans for the green spaces of Galway.
  • Finglas Five Arm Junction – Teams across Arup have collaborated to develop a new proposal for this important urban node that will help rationale traffic, prioritise people, enliven the space and integrate more tree planting and rain gardens making it all round better place to be.
  • Our Green Vision – Arup worked closely with clients at The Southern Regional Assembly to develop Ireland’s first regional framework on the implementation of Nature-based Solutions and Blue-Green infrastructure. www.southernassembly.ie/uploads/general-files/BGC_Framework_web.pdf
  • Grand Canal to Lucan Urban Greenway – Arup worked closely with the client team to develop a proposal for the greenway that connects local schools and destinations to an arterial route for cycling traversing existing and new parks, parklets and public realm.
