Graduate High Voltage Electrical Engineer

The opportunity

  • Assist in the design, analysis, and simulation of electrical power systems, including renewable energy sources (solar, wind, battery storage).
  • Perform various power system studies like short circuit, cable ampacity, Arc flash, Load flow and Energy yield
  • Responsible for the design of solar facilities, substation and BESS under the direction of other senior engineering staff.
  • Perform engineering and design calculations such as Grounding Study, Short circuit study, Cable Ampacity study, Load Flow study, ARC Flash and AC/DC voltage drop calculation.
  • Ready to learn and deliver various aspect of Solar and substation design such as sizing of DC and AC cable and its layout.
  • Ready to learn transmission and distribution line design and associated software like PLSCAD.
  • Adhere to instructions and learn from experience and training.
  • Assist with the documentation and organization of project data and results.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and regulatory standards related to power systems and renewable energy.

Is this role right for you?    

  • Bachelor's degree in an Electrical or Computer Engineer with focus on Power System and basic knowledge of power systems, renewable energy technologies, and energy storage systems.
  • Familiarity with software tools such as PSCAD, PSS/E, ETAP, SKM or similar is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD will be a plus.
  • The ability to prioritize effectively, balance assigned work and exceptional organization skills required for our constantly evolving environment    
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based working    
  • Presentation skills with colleagues and clients at all levels    
  • Analytical mindset and/or Strategic thinker    

To be considered for a graduate opportunity, your application must include a copy of your cv/resume and meet the following criteria:

  • Candidate must be eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future 
  • No more than 12 months of full-time experience in a comparable role 
  • Recently graduated, or on track to graduate, from your most recent degree, related to your role of choice, before employment starts

Houston Hiring Range – Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Houston is $76,500 to $83,500 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Houston will differ.
