Graduate Geotechnical Engineer (Available 2022)

Responsibilities of this specific role will include, but not be limited to the following: 
• Work alongside our infrastructure team to develop foundation and deep excavation designs 
• Interpret ground conditions and understand their impact on design and construction 
• Interpretation of field and laboratory testing, using GINT database system, for typical design and complex design using finite element 
• Carry out support of excavation designs, for tunnel shafts and cut and cover tunnels/subway stations 
• Prepare shallow and piled foundation designs, slope stability and seismic assessments 
• Conduct preliminary ground movement predictions and building damage assessments 
• Prepare laboratory test schedules 
• Carry out part time site supervision of ground investigation or design implementation 
• Prepare desk study, design reports, drawings and calculation packages. 

• Bachelors of Science or Masters of Engineering in Geotechnical or Tunnel or Mining Engineering 
• Knowledge of soil-structure interaction 

•Good knowledge of finite element or finite difference method 
• Sound knowledge of civil, structural fundamentals, soil and rock mechanics 
• Professional demeanor 
• Good communication skills essential for team-based working 
• Excellent planning and organization skills required for our fast-paced environment 
• Must be highly motivated, proactive and willing to take on new challenges 

• Masters of Science or Masters of Engineering in Geotechnical or Tunnel or Mining Engineering 

• 3.0 GPA or higher 

• EIT/FE desired 
• Evidence of past internship or extracurricular activity in the field 
• Proven ability to perform in a deadline environment 
• History of technical presentations and technical writing 
• Evidence of personal investment in academic or extracurricular field 
• Coding (VBA, Python)/CADD/ Microstation/BIM abilities 

• Bilingual in French and English
