Graduate Geotechnical Engineer – Available June 2021

Responsibilities of this specific role will include, but not be limited to the following:

• Work alongside our infrastructure team to develop foundation and deep excavation
• Interpret ground conditions and understand their impact on design and construction
• Interpretation of field and laboratory testing, using GINT/ Leapfrog database system
• Use of special software for typical and complex design including finite element modeling.
• Carry out support of excavation designs, for tunnel shafts and cut and cover tunnels/subway stations
• Prepare shallow and piled foundation designs, slope stability and seismic assessments
• Conduct preliminary ground movement predictions and building damage assessments
• Prepare ground investigation scope and laboratory test schedules
• Occasional supervision of ground investigation, earthworks, piling and excavation activities.
• Prepare desk study, design reports, drawings and calculation packages.
• Any other duties as directed within the context of the position. 



• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent with emphasis on Structures and Geotechnics
• Knowledge of soil-structure interaction/ seismic
• Good knowledge of finite element or finite difference method
• 3.0 GPA or higher
• Sound knowledge of civil, structural fundamentals, soil and rock mechanics
• Good communication skills essential for team-based working
• Ability to perform in a deadline environment
• Excellent planning and organization skills
• Highly motivated, proactive and willing to take on new challenges
• The ability to prioritize effectively, balance assigned work and exceptional organization skills required for our constantly evolving environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based working
• Presentation skills with colleagues and clients of all levels


• Master of Science or Master of Engineering in Geotechnical or Tunnel or Mining Engineering
• Coding (VBA, Python)/CADD/ Microstation/ GIS/ BIM abilities
• Understanding of Machine Learning
• History of technical presentations and technical writing
• Evidence of past internship or extracurricular activity in the field
• EIT/FE desired
• Bilingual (English & French)
