The Information Technology and Communications (ITC) team in the Toronto office is made up of Electronic Communications Engineers and Consultants, working in the built environment in the ITC, Electronic Security and/or Audio-Visual systems workspace.

 The opportunity

  • Attend internal/external meetings to help consult on technology strategy and requirements and craft the future implementation of digital technology in the built environment. Learn from listening, asking questions and discussion
  • Design digital technology systems for the built environment including data/voice networks, wireless/radio systems, telephony, security systems, public address, audio-visual systems, airport systems, healthcare systems, and transit systems
  • Opportunity to assist with System Integration Management and Enterprise Architecture activities
  • Explore how people, process, technology and the environment must be combined for each project to enable successful integration solutions to realize business goals
  • Use project delivery assistance tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam
  • Be involved in discussions with Contractors, Architects, Planners, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil and Structural Engineers to gain knowledge & experience

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in system design, electrical, electronics, mechatronics engineering, or relevant engineering focus
  • Excellent interpersonal skills needed for team-based working
  • Keen curiosity about pursuing a career in the field of ITC, Electronic Security, and/or Audio-Visual through technology infrastructure and systems design and consulting in the built environment
  • Detail oriented with excellent planning and organization skills required for our fast-paced environment
  • Must be highly motivated, proactive, collaborative, and willing to address new challenges
  • Previous internship experience advantageous
  • Experience with: Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, OneNote
  • Candidate must be eligible to work in Canada without the need for employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future

Preferred:

  • Experience with: AutoCAD, Revit MEP, MicroStation, Bluebeam, VBA, Python, Microsoft Visio, PowerPoint, or Project
  • Eligible to become a member of the PEO/OIQ/APEGA
  • Internship experience in an engineering design consulting firm
  • History of technical presentations and writing, knowledge sharing with peers
  • Academic research or testing with relevant focus
  • Confirmed ability to perform in a deadline driven environment
  • Evidence of teamwork, and leadership such as professional accomplishment or honor society

Toronto Hiring Range – Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Toronto is $61, 000 to $70, 500 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Toronto will differ.
