The Opportunity
In this role, you will undertake range of projects and activities within IT areas - within a function that is pivoting towards a global-first approach. You will use your experiences and skills to support with effective procurement – through strategic sourcing, negotiation, contracting, commercial performance management and external market intelligence. You will liaise with, and influence, a wide range of stakeholders and be recognised as an expert in your category area, able to build strong relationships and deliver robust outcomes for the greater benefit of Arup, our members and our stakeholders.
You will report to the category lead and develop plans to ensure delivery from both a global perspective and meeting the needs of our regional operations. Your outcomes will improve quality, performance and efficiency, whilst reducing costs and risks. Central to our procurement strategy, and your work, will be sustainable development, decarbonisation, and our values as an organisation. Our values - Arup.
In this role, you’ll manage sourcing and contracting projects across software, SaaS, hardware, cloud, and infrastructure, collaborating with technical teams to secure optimal deals. Your work will include contract reviews, performance management, renewals, and negotiations to align with our digital strategy while mitigating risks like Data Security and GDPR.
You’ll conduct vendor due diligence, manage supplier relationships, and ensure sustainability in procurement practices to help with carbon reduction and social responsibility goals. Partnering with teams like Legal and Finance, you’ll execute supplier agreements, maintain records, and report progress efficiently.
Your impact will be seen in strategic procurement delivery, driving improvements in cost, quality, risk management, and supplier partnerships. By following clear processes and fostering effective communication, you’ll help achieve organizational goals with professionalism and strong stakeholder engagement.

Is this role right for you?
We are looking for people who:

Have negotiated within the IT category area and key vendors within a mix of software, cloud, infrastructure and hardware, within a professional services, or adjacent, industry with multi-regional exposure.

Have knowledge and experience of best practice approaches to procurement, negotiation, contracting and supplier relationship management for best overall value.

Have strong knowledge of contracts within your category area – able to articulate and negotiate key risks and requirements for good contracting practice.

Have a strong focus on benefits delivery and demonstrating the value of procurement in your projects and using procurement technology for best value and efficiency

You may hold a BSc and be professionally qualified (MCIPS) - or equivalent.
