The Opportunity
In an increasingly competitive marketplace, our Marketing, Communications, and Business Development (MCBD) team enables Arup to build and protect our reputation, deepen client relationships, win quality work, and attract top talent. This role will be key in achieving our strategic market and client ambitions. We are seeking to hire a Marketing Coordinator to work in our global MCBD function with our Digital Services & Technical Specialists Services.
This role provides an excellent developmental step for early career marketers with some professional experience who are ready to take more ownership of global marketing activities, but who are not yet expected to lead full workstreams independently.
You will support the creation and delivery of global marketing plans that raise the profile and reputation of Arup’s Digital Services and Technical Specialist Services across key markets. Working as part of the global marketing team, you will collaborate closely with marketing colleagues and technical leaders to deliver compelling content, campaigns and events aligned to strategic goals.
The post sits within the global marketing team, which is part of our global marketing and communications group. The postholder will be line managed by Global Digital Services Marketing Lead. The post holder’s primary relationships will be with members of the global Digital Services Leadership and Technical Specialist Services Leadership community as well as marketing and communications colleagues at global and regional levels – these will include communications channel managers and marketers responsible for business and services marketing.
Key Responsibilities
- Support elements of the global marketing and communications plan for Digital Services and Technical Specialist Services.
- Coordinate content creation including case studies, project stories, social media posts, web updates and collateral.
- Draft and edit marketing content with increasing independence and confidence.
- Conduct competitor and client research to inform value propositions and campaign planning.
- Support preparation of award entries, speaker briefs and event coordination.
- Assist in developing targeted email marketing activities and digital marketing execution.
- Identify new opportunities to raise the profile of the business and its activities across key markets and audiences.
- Work with internal communications colleagues to share news, priorities and stories within Arup.
- Help raise awareness of the business/service strategy across global and regional MCBD teams.
- Contribute to the development of internal assets that support collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Maintain regular communication with global networks of subject matter experts.
- Build positive relationships with marketing peers across regions to support joined up delivery.
- Seek opportunities to raise visibility of global priorities and audiences.
Is this role right for you?
- Undergraduate, further degree or experience equivalent to a degree, preferably in Marketing, Business, Management, Commerce or Economics; and/or a postgraduate professional qualification or accreditation in marketing.
- Early Career Marketing experience, preferably within a professional services, technical services and/or engineering B2B context
- Strong writing skills and good knowledge of English grammar and usage (although English as a first language is not required)
- Personable and collaborative working style with good listening skills and a commitment to positive stakeholder management
- Willingness to take on new challenges and an enthusiasm to learn from and share with others
- Proactive approach, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple ongoing activities with a degree of autonomy.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including active listening and influencing.
- Strong writing and editing skills; comfortable drafting content with guidance.
- Proactive, collaborative mindset; enthusiastic about learning from subject matter experts.
- Detail oriented and committed to quality.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities and stakeholder needs with some autonomy.
- Comfortable working across dispersed global teams and time zones
