The Opportunity

The Global Benefits Manager reports to the Global Head of Benefits and sits within the Reward Community of Expertise (CoE). The Reward CoE team works across our organisation matrix spanning four regions, our global functions, and over 30 countries to deliver our ambitious Global Reward Strategy, within the context of the overall Arup Strategy.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and delivering global benefit initiatives across our global footprint. This role will lead in the planning, execution, and optimization of global benefit projects.
This role works closely with global people-team colleagues and colleagues across our global functions.

The Role
In this role, the individual will utilize market data to support the design, implementation, and management of global benefit programs aligned with Arup’s global benefits strategy. They will oversee a range of global employee benefits programs such as Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) and financing arrangements like pooling and captive models, ensuring effectiveness, engagement, and outcomes. A key responsibility includes collaborating to develop and maintain a comprehensive governance framework for global benefit programs, ensuring consistent and equitable approaches across countries. The role involves working closely with regional benefit managers to align global projects with local legal and regulatory requirements, ensuring consistency in standards and approaches. Additionally, they will manage or contribute to projects aimed at operationalizing benefit strategies or creating solutions for both global and regional business needs.
The individual will manage relationships with third-party advisers and suppliers within Arup’s supplier management framework. They will proactively seek opportunities to enhance benefit propositions and delivery using market intelligence and data-driven insights. Engaging with global colleagues, particularly in people and communications teams, they will ensure clear, accessible communication of benefits to both current and prospective members. This includes maintaining documentation that clearly outlines program offerings, eligibility, and enrollment processes. The individual will also support the development of an effective administration team within Shared Services, serving as the ultimate escalation point for global benefit matters.
Furthermore, the role requires supporting colleagues in the Reward Centre of Expertise (CoE) and the global people team in decision-making, policy interpretation, and issue resolution. Acting as a mentor, the individual will contribute to building a highly effective Reward CoE. Finally, they will identify and implement opportunities to enhance cost-effectiveness through economies of scale, optimized plan design, and improved program management.

- Strong understanding of project management principles, highly organised and able to coordinate the delivery of simultaneous projects and a range of activity.
- Excellent analytical skills and systems proficiency.
- Change management experience, navigating stakeholders through transformations of process and approach
- Pragmatic and creative thinking to solve problems and help deliver effective reward solutions.
- Effective people developer who can coach team members to grow their skills and capabilities
