The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to work alongside Geotechnical Engineers and Engineering Geologists in our Ground Engineering team in our Belfast office. As well as traditional civil engineering projects in the transport, water and built environment sectors, you will be given the opportunity to work on geothermal energy projects, where we are recognised industry experts advising both government and private sector clients on how to develop and enable this green energy source.
Whether at the outset of your career or approaching Chartership, in Arup you will gain a structured training pathway with a focus on both your professional and technical development. Through working along side established professionals within Arup on a day to day basis and gaining experience dealing with external clients and contractors you will be given the opportunity to take more ownership of your own work as you skills and experience develop.
At Arup, you belong to an extraordinary collective – in which we encourage individuality to thrive. Our strength comes from how we respect, share and connect our diverse experiences, perspectives and ideas. You will have the opportunity do socially useful work that has meaning – to Arup, to your career, to our members and to the clients and communities we serve.
Is this role right for you?
We are looking for an individual who:
- Is working towards chartership with a relevant institution.
- A background working as a geotechnical engineer, with experience of geotechnical deliverables such as desk studies, ground investigation scopes and specifications, interpretative reports and an understanding and experience of geotechnical design, such as shallow and deep foundations, earthworks or retaining walls.
- Is a great communicator, including report writing and presentations, be a collaborative and enthusiastic team member, have an enquiring mind and a desire to learn and progress your career.
