The Opportunity
The Global Process Owner (GPO) role is all about implementing improvements in how we do things and monitoring and measuring these improvements. You need to drive change to ensure these improvements are adopted by users, including supporting on communication and training. You will need to think differently to what we know and do today and be an ambassador for global thinking and processes, new technology and ways of working. As you grow your skills and expertise you will become a ‘go to’ expert on how the new processes and Oracle work. Your work will have a direct impact on our members and the business to make them operate better.
Key Responsibilities
We’re looking for a dynamic leader to define and own end-to-end people processes across our global portfolio. In this pivotal role, you’ll lead the design, standardisation, and optimisation of workflows that align with our future operating model and Oracle HCM capabilities. You’ll champion the transformation of legacy systems into streamlined, member-focused experiences, ensuring seamless integration across modules and regions.
You’ll collaborate with diverse stakeholders—from regional teams and subject matter experts to implementation partners—acting as the central liaison to ensure process requirements are captured, prioritised, and delivered. Your expertise will guide global design decisions, balancing local legislative needs with a commitment to standardisation. From solution design and testing to change adoption and service transition, you’ll be instrumental in shaping processes that are upgrade-proof, compliant, and ready for the future.
Skills and Experience
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
Be an SME in assigned portfolio of operating processes.
Understands the wider landscape of employee lifecycle processes at Arup.
A clear understanding of what is critical in design decisions, and what is not just a “nice to have”.
Commitment to become an expert in how Oracle HCM cloud will work is essential, existing Oracle HCM cloud knowledge or certification is a bonus.
Understanding of Arup’s legacy HR systems, platforms and tools.
Experience working as part of fast moving, cross-functional teams.
Experience / exposure in harmonising policies across areas while respecting local legislative requirements.
Skills & Attributes
Committed and forthright in representing the business outcomes (considering the complexities and constraints of Cloud systems).
A keen collaborator who will work closely with other GPOs to ensure cross-module connections are identified and integrated.
Ready to constructively challenge the status quo and embrace the opportunity to shape the future of global people processes.
Strong communication and negotiation skills to align diverse interests.
Ability to analyse process gaps, data system issues, and user feedback to drive decisions and continuous improvement.
Empowered and ready to make decisions on behalf of their business area.
Non-hierarchical, with the ability to engage and communicate with people at all levels in both technical and non-technical environments.
Ability to remain positively motivated and foster team spirit during periods of higher than normal workload.
Fosters team collaboration; embraces diversity and inclusion and actively seeks diverse perspectives.
Self-aware, understands their role in a team and takes responsibility for own actions.
