Whether developing fire strategy designs, specialist fire safety analysis, offering strategic advice, or carrying out inspection, risk assessment or expert witness services, our work is grounded in fire science.
The Opportunity
This is your chance to become part of a team of experts in the field and to be able to work in country-specific codes and planning standards for fire safety.
As a Fire Engineer at Arup, you will:
- Development of fire safety strategies, collaborating in teams internal and external multidisciplinary teams at Arup.
- Review and audit work on fire safety in buildings and existing infrastructures.
- Development of calculations related to fire safety studies, from simplified calculations to modeling with advanced CFD methods or FEM.
- Fire Protection systems design.
Does this role inspire you?
We are looking for someone dynamic and proactive that has a great interest in fire safety strategies. Ideally, you’ll bring:
- Studies in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering or similar studies.
- Master's Degree in Fire Safety Engineering or similar.
- Previous experience on fire safety and/or fire protection engineering.
- Fluent written and spoken English and Spanish skills (C1).
- Knowledge of some of these software packages:
- Fire safety standards – Spanish fire codes NFPA, FM Global and BS.
- Building Information Modelling (BIM) – Revit.
- CFD modeling tools applied to fire modeling and Smoke – FDS
- Structural modeling tools in fire situations – Safir/ ls Dyna.
- Fire safety standards – Spanish fire codes NFPA, FM Global and BS.
