The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for a talented Project Facade Specialist with key focus in facade design, specification and assessment to join our team in Cape Town. Work will cover all façade types - glazing, curtain wall, cladding - using a variety of systems and materials on a wide range of building typologies.
The successful candidate will become a permanent member of our creative, friendly, international team and will work on some of the most exciting buildings in the world including international airports, high rise commercial and residential towers, prominent buildings in cities and international stadia.
Key responsibilities:
- You will develop excellent facade solutions in collaboration with other facade specialists and see these through from concept through tender documents, and mock-ups and testing to fabrication and installation.
- You will develop facade designs, prepare details, study materials and systems and contribute to specifications. In later stages of the project, you will be part of a team reviewing the contractor's design submissions and undertake inspections of fabrication and installation. The role will also include the inspection and investigation of existing buildings.
- You will be part of the wider facade team developing facade design solutions in collaboration with other facade specialists on your projects from concept to implementation, including review and comment on detailed designs generated by specialist façade contractors.
- You will work in a team and will engage directly with our clients, architects, contractors and supply chain.
- You will have several projects running in parallel at various stages in the project life.
- You will produce drawings, reports, specifications and correspondence and help our project managers to manage time and budget.

Is this role right for you?
We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented designer, architect, building physics or sustainability specialist developing design, technical, and software skills who enjoys working collaboratively in multi-discipline design teams, taking projects from inception to completion to achieve outstanding results.
We are seeking a candidate with:
- A degree in a technical engineering field or architecture.
- 2+ years of experience in working in construction design,
- Good working knowledge of national and international design codes and technical guidance.
- Knowledge of detail design, structural and building physics, testing, inspections and investigations and site experience.
- Skills in the use of CAD and 3D modelling software such as Rhino.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills in English
